Everything scares me now:
Bathrooms, older men who start talking to me in public places, like waiting rooms or in lines or on subway platforms, the knife in my hands as I chop broccoli, prepositions for what may follow, unclean kitchens, cold water, cracks in walls, floors, soil, concrete, skin
They join things that have always scared me:
The sea, ceilings, sleep, water stains, my bare skin touching tile, wet sand, soil, skin.
