Kara M. Bollinger is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where she received her Master's in Rhetoric and Composition and served as the assistant nonfiction editor of Beecher's Magazine. She is currently finishing a year-long position in Moscow, Russia where she worked as the Assistant Director of the Writing and Communication Center at the New Economic School, and is excited to see what the Midwest has to offer her next. Her work has been published in Sleet Magazine, The Medulla Review, Revolution House, Midwestern Gothic, and Prick of the Spindle.
drifting
as it ended, we spoke of:
rolls of pennies. literally throwing people under busses. chocolate bunnies at easter. things people talk about when they have been together. for days. and sleep, scarce.
i said:
we are best friends falling asleep together.
and you said:
you are the best i know.
but as we drifted, i knew we meant the same thing.
