Sydney Yount is a queer cis-white woman. She acknowledges her presence on Tohono O’odham and Pascua Yaqui's ancestral lands, in the city she lives in Tucson. She is attending the U of A and is a current student to receive a BFA in Art Education with an Emphasis in Photography. She is a visual and literary artist. She is passionate about culturally responsive education as well as working with the youth to create work that is reflective of metacognition and identity. Much of her work deals with the recreation of trauma and the release of trauma around mental illness, substance abuse, and abusive relationships. I like her and think she is pretty cool.

Adultery

Soaking by the yellow on the beach
the wife of your friend
could hold grains
of sand
in the flower
between her legs
and yet

never cure herself from your
staff of
ivy

binding at her feet
as the blue increases
its opacity

And her toes are tickled
by the seaweed
