Heather Angier was diagnosed with Scoliosis when she was 4 years old. She began treatments for scoliosis from the age of 10, including 4 years of bracing and corrective spine surgery. She has an MFA in English and Creative Writing from Mills College and her poetry has appeared in many literary magazines. She currently lives with her husband and two children in Oakland, California, not far from the place she was raised, Mount Tamalpais State Park.
