Susan Darlington’s pamphlets include Traumatropic Heart (Selcouth Station Press, 2021), Never Wear White (Alien Buddha Press, 2022), and The Oracle of Snails (Hedgehog Press, upcoming 2026). Her poems have been widely published in, among others, Mslexia, Northern Gravy, and Pennine Platform, as well as various anthologies in the UK and US.
She lives in the Aire Valley in England, which in part of Brontë Country. The landscape informs much of her writing, which frequently blends nature and magic realism to explore women’s experiences, social transgressions, and the crossing of geographical and personal boundaries.
A freelance arts writer for over two decades, she has had reviews and interviews printed in Spectrum Culture, Loud & Quiet, Yorkshire Post, and Morning Star. She is particularly interested in promoting the voices of emerging women creatives.
