Susanna Lang’s chapbook, Self-Portraits, was published by Blue Lyra Press in 2020. Her most recent full-length collection, Travel Notes from the River Styx, was released in 2017 by Terrapin Books. Other collections include Tracing the Lines (Brick Road Poetry Press, 2013) and Even Now (The Backwaters Press, 2008). A two-time Hambidge, she has published original poems and translations from the French in such publications as Prairie Schooner, Stonecoast Review, Delos, American Life in Poetry and Verse Daily. Her translations of poetry by Yves Bonnefoy include Words in Stone and The Origin of Language, and her translation of Baalbek by Nohad Salameh is forthcoming in 2021 from L’Atelier du Grand Tétras. She is currently collaborating with Souad Labbize on translations of recent work.
A long-time educator, Lang has taught fifth grade through graduate level classes in Chicago area schools and universities, as well as leading poetry workshops across the metro region. More information available at www.susannalang.com.
