Faithless
I am the anxious child at the window
the lover checking police logs
the mother scanning gps
I am the shrugging wallflower
the dweller at mail slots
the naysayer
I am the reader of horoscopes
the editor impervious to fact and fiction
the upholder of fraud
I am the weeper of salt which mummifies hope
the bleeder of iron seeds into toilets or new life
the skeptic of proofs
I am the one who catalogues the death of gods
the wounder, the wounded
the godhead
