Claire Donohue Roof is an Assistant Professor of English at Ivy Tech Community College in South Bend, Indiana. She teaches Intro to Creative Writing, English Composition, Intro to Literature, and Rhetoric and Argument. She earned a B.A. in English, with a concentration in Creative Writing from Indiana University at Bloomington, and an M.A. in English Education from Saint Joseph University in West Hartford, Connecticut. She also studied graduate classes in creative writing at the University of Houston, with the late Ntozake Shange. Professor Claire Donohue Roof has participated in the Writing Resistance Workshop with Larissa Shmailo. She has also worked with the mentor poet/editor Megan Merchant. She is a Pushcart poet nominee. She has published work in the Aeolian Harp Series Anthology, Volume Nine, Pirene’s Fountain, Flint Hills Review, MockingHeart Review, the Common Ground Review and the Deep Water Literary Journal. She has also published poems in the Cincinnati Poets Collective. Her poem, Homesick won the Hartford Advocate newspaper poetry contest. She is the editor of the Ivy Quill, a literary and arts journal at Ivy Tech Community College, South Bend.
