Clockwise Cat publisher and editor Alison Ross experienced rave-levels of ecstasy when she found out she was shortlisted for the 2014 Erbacce Prize among 20 others, down from 5,000 entries. She was also giddily bemused when was nominated for the Best of the Net a few years back, though she lost out to savvier scribes. Alison is also a staff book reviewer for Five 2 One Magazine. Alison has three chapbooks in addition to Monster Sermons: From Fowlpox Press, Miro's Poesie and Clockwise Cats, and from Feline and Nothingness Press, Clockwise Cats: The Prequel.

I am what I am not yet

The splayed vision of what was necessary. A panda bear in the park played with scissors, while the underground shoe sang a cold cold lament. Finally, the future of my past gulped rotten berries. The rain his hands formed asterisks, causing the air conditioner to go extinct. The ebullient factory will now explode, the darkness curling around our feet. Tomorrow, the towels will wrap themselves in plastic upon learning that the cassette tapes developed arthritic knees. The splayed vision of what was unnecessary. With apologies to the birds.
