Patricia Wallesverd lives in northern Wisconsin with her husband and golden retriever, Dorothy. She began writing and publishing poetry as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, where she studied with Richard Behm and Larry Watson. Her early work appeared in journals including Wisconsin Review, Colorado North Review, and Barney Street. After college, she continued to write while raising a family and teaching high school English for 38 years, though for many years she rarely submitted her work for publication. In recent years, she returned to publishing with renewed purpose. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Midwest Quarterly, The Main Street Rag, Dark Winter Literary Journal, 34th Parallel Magazine, Freshwater Literary Journal, The Bluebird Word, and Barstow & Grand. Her poems often grow from the landscapes of the upper Midwest and explore family, memory, love, loss, and the natural world. No Legend on a Map is her first chapbook.
