MARGARET BARBOUR GUILBERT is an award-winning writer from Alabama living in New York City. Her play, A SCENE OF CAPTIVITY WITH WALTZES AND MIRRORS, was staged twice at Harvard's Agassiz Theater, and selections from a book-length prose poem, Sugaring Off, placed Third for the Mudfish Poetry Prize judged by C.K. Williams. A sonnet, "Thanksgiving Dinner," won $1,000 from the National Poetry Association. Her poems were nominated for a Pushcart and a Best of the Net Prize in 2022. She has published two chapbooks of poems with Finishing Line Press, MY GRANDMOTHER'S ENGAGEMENT RING and BLUE ELECTRODE. SWALLOW BARN is her third chapbook. Poets she has studied with include Sharon Olds, William Matthews, C.K. Williams, Marie Ponsot, Rachel Hadas, and Rosanna Warren, playwright Arthur Kopit , and fiction writer, Mary Gaitskill.
