Rowan Taw is a poet based in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. Her poetry explores rooms both literal and metaphorical: houses, museums, digital spaces, memories, relationships, and the shifting identities we carry through them. Influenced by contemplative practice and a fascination with the ordinary strangeness of everyday life, her work seeks moments of insight within displacement, impermanence, and belonging. Her poems have appeared in VerseWrights, Boston Poetry Magazine, and the anthology Brigid’s Light, with her first full collection Saturn Yields to Jupiter forthcoming from Kelsay Books. In her academic life, she is an Associate Professor of Psychology and the author of Mindfulness Through Science and Verse: Finger Pointing at the Moon (under the name Heather Kempton).
