from THE BODIES

The dog rolls
on an empty bottle

or to my
dismay I realize

a turtle
shell with the dried animal
clapping inside

-

There was a time
I was worried

I was just a series
of reactions

Although there is a of course a

before
and an after
you can never pinpoint

the specific moment just
before
it came in

to lay its eggs
