INCEPTION
A girl, a child, a well, a bucket.
These are the variables. What
are the predictable outcomes?
Work, chat, slack, murder, assistance
given, assistance taken. Under clouds—
blue, vanilla or other weather. Scented
with Satsuma blossoms. We hope
for the worst but expect the very
best. Superlatives make for mundane
morning news. A girl and a child
and only the fever blisters
on the latter’s lips keep her
from speaking to the former.
That is one way it could start.
